Play Reimagined at Buckland-Shelburne Elementary School
A colorful, inclusive playground is buzzing with JOYFUL energy at Buckland Elementary School in Shelburne Falls, MA. Thanks to a year-long community effort, the outdated 30-year structure has been transformed into a vibrant play space. The playground came together through a hands-on “community build” organized by Premier Park & Play, whose certified supervisor guided local volunteers every step of the way from funding through installation.
Bursting with bold lime green and orange equipment from Jambette, the new playground radiates life and laughter. Every detail is designed with inclusivity in mind, from adaptive swings and wheelchair accessible structures to interactive ground-level stations, sensory-friendly features and soft ADA-accessible matting. When the bell rings, kids race straight to the gondola, a rocking, dynamic structure that supports vestibular development. They also love swinging and soaring across the kinesis monkey bars, which help to meet important physical and occupational goals.
