At Bow Elementary, recess has become a full-blown adventure, bursting with color, accessible pathways, and a joyful spirit. In the playground build, the school’s desire to ensure inclusivity was at the heart of every decision. The ADA-compliant surface and engineered wood-fiber ramp makes the space easily accessible, wheelchair-accessible swing set makes soaring through the air possible, and shade structures provide comfort and protection for all.
One of the show-stopping features is the Iris Climber, inviting curious climbers to reach new heights while The Car Panel inspires little drivers to twist and turn as if on a wild ride through town. For more daring adventurers, the Iceberg Climber challenges kids to scale its dramatic peaks and conquer its interior cable routes, offering both a physical workout and a sense of wonder.
And that’s just the beginning. Ask any student what their favorite piece of playground equipment is, and you’ll likely hear the same answer – the Oscillating Surfboard! This innovative feature lets kids ride imaginary waves, swaying and balancing like surfers riding the tide. The Nin-Ka Obstacle Course is a parkour-inspired challenge course with rings, handles, climbing structures, and balance elements. It builds strength and agility.
The Bow Elementary playground is truly a destination where every child, regardless of ability, age or background, can climb, spin, crawl and connect. It is a space for laughter, learning, and limitless imagination for all.
