Play, Learn, Grow: Epstein Hillel’s New Playground
Since 1955, it has been the mission at Epstein Hillel School in Marblehead, MA to provide a challenging interdisciplinary curriculum that fosters critical thinking, curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning. This playground is perfect for the school’s youngest learners catering to the 1-5 age range.
Premier Park & Play worked hand-in-hand with the school to modify the Gecko play structure by Nature of Early play in order to ensure the play equipment met the needs and interests of the students. The structure features various sensory panels to include a chime panel and a tic-tac-toe panel along with climbing features and plenty of slides.
In addition to the structure, the area features some stand alone items designed to encourage imaginary play. These include a play kitchen and sandbox. A graduating class donated a buddy bench, which is a one-of-a-kind feature that turns empathy into action. When a child sits, it signals a need for connection, inviting classmates to reach out, include, and build friendships.
The area was finished with PIP surfacing in a custom blue and white blend to match the school’s colors, ensure safety, accessibility, and provide a signature look for the school’s playground.
The Epstein Hillel School’s mission extends seamlessly from the classroom to the play environment, and Premier Park & Play delivered a playground that is truly a Mitzvah – a great deed.
