Northfield Route 4 Athletic Fields Community Build

The Northwood Route 4 Athletic Fields playground in Northwood, NH was built by the hands and hearts of Northwood residents. Organizing a community build, Premier Park & Play sent a supervisor installer and walked through the steps of building the playground with local volunteers.  This grassroots effort is now a special gathering place, fostering community spirit and pride in a one-of-a-kind playground.

And there’s something for every kind of explorer.  Whether they’re swinging high on the swing set, crawling through tunnels, or climbing to new heights on the rugged rock climber, there are endless ways to move and discover.  One of the playground’s most buzz-worthy attractions is the giant, colorful Bug Climber by Jambette.  This larger-than-life creature looks like it crawled straight out of a child’s imagination!  With bright exoskeleton colors and bendy legs to scramble over, the children love to climb on the antennae that wiggles with excitement.

The playground designed for ages 2-12 years, also comes alive in its vibrant, new musical zone.  Featuring cymbals, bongos and a xylophone from Playmart, little hands use big imagination to create a symphonic sound.  The instruments help build fine motor skills, boost brain development, encourage social interaction and support physical coordination.

Every element of the playground was thoughtfully chosen to inspire active, inclusive play, and all children are welcome to join the fun.  If you’re excited by this playground, be sure to explore additional designs by Playmart and Jambette, where you can discover similar projects in your area.
